Do you enjoy forests or beaches? Trees or fresh air? How about a sunny afternoon picnic? A walk in the park in autumn? Birdsongs? Or watching clouds in the sky?

If the answer is yes, it means you are 100% an outdoorsy person.

In fact it’s not just me saying this. Florence Williams explains in an interview with National Geographic and her book “The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative” how modern technology is revealing what goes on in our brains when we step outdoors — and why nature is so good for us.

Today was #getoutsideday organised by @ordnancesurvey who shared wonderful ideas and inspirations about things to do outdoors. For example:

  • Go Geocaching
  • Surprise someone with a picnic
  • Treat someone with an outdoor gift
  • Do a wildlife survey
  • Go on a litter pick

They have put together wonderful tips for each of these on their website and many more inspirations for the weeks to come.
