If life gives you lemons, then...

One of the things happening since beginning of the year is that I constantly change my mind. I knew that people are changing when they go through such a phase in life like I do but now I know how it really feels… it feels like all coffee mugs in this world speak the truth (and I honestly do not like this thought because I never liked these quotes). Anyway, one of these coffee mug quotes starts with “If life gives you lemons, then….”. various of “then” may follow here, but I have my own version since last week. Here is the story:

🍋 It was probably one of the toughest weeks so far. I have been told that various side effects of the therapy are diagnosed and are having an impact on my body. Not sure if they will be gone when the 2nd therapy has ended, but I’m worried and I have to be even more disciplined now. Second message that made me not smile: Germany has set the UK high risk area again. Means again a possible delay in seeing my favourite people and my family again.

🍋 And on top of all that I started to have pain in my hips while running so I have to pause here as well… all in all frustrating, but I don’t want to be frustrated. So I was looking for something to do… And I found the perfect thing: baking my second ever cake in my life for one of my best friends visiting me after more than half a year not having seen each other… and I made a vegan sugar free lemon cake. And I bought my first ever Amalfi Lemon…. amazing…these lemons are so beautiful. They smell so good. Have you ever smelled an Amalfi lemon? Please try it. And close your eyes and imagine having picked this lemon from the tree. This kind of lemon is a true beauty. I smelled them for three days every morning and evening.

🍋 So my sentence goes like this: “If life gives you lemons, then try to get Amalfi lemons, because they are the best.”

🍋 The cake was great (I’m so proud of it) and the day with my wonderful friend made me forget all the other issues. I’m the happiest patient and I will always try to find a way to see the beauty in life.
